Mr. Pg Haji Mohd Wahab Bin Pg Haji Abdullah has worked for more than 20 years as a lecturer at the Institute of Brunei Technical Education, mainly on recreation and restaurant services. He also worked with the Ministry of Education to support online learning measures during the pandemic. According to the guideline, there are 4 stages in the education system:

  • Stage 1: Remote online learning – students have access to online content
  • Stage 2: Distance learning – students and teachers engage online
  • Stage 3: Blended learning – materials are sent online, and some practices are on-site under safety SOP
  • Stage 4: On-site learning – fully return to regular classes procedure

Mr. Wahab also shared experiences when he instructed his students in his culinary class during the pandemic. Digital devices were crucial for communicating, illustrating, and demonstrating during classes. Moreover, to exchange data and material between instructors and students, the institute utilizes MS Team, Kahoot, and Whatsapp. Lastly, the curriculum is redesigned to be transferable to other modules and/or institutes to provide students with a more flexible learning path.
