A scholarship support program for underprivileged students, aiming to provide educational opportunities at the upper secondary level or vocational certificate level. The program is dedicated to helping students who lack financial resources continue their studies and build a better future.

To promote and support children and youth with potential but shortage or facing disadvantages, enabling them to access appropriate educational development and opportunities in accordance with their abilities at the upper secondary or vocational certificate level.

To provide support for children and youth who have either exited or are at risk of exiting the formal education system after completing lower secondary education (Grade 9), by facilitating continued education at the upper secondary or vocational certificate level in alignment with their individual aptitudes,with the objective of fostering their full potential and long-term development.

To foster societal recognition of the educational potential of underprivileged youth by supporting those with good conduct, diligence, and leadership qualities in accessing higher education to enhance their quality of life.

The Kao Puea Nong (Step for Children) Scholarship is specifically designed to assist children at risk of dropping out of the education system due to the high cost of living and educational expenses for upper secondary or vocational studies—amounting to approximately 250,000 Thai Baht per student over three years. We have supported 186 + students, enabling them to complete their full three-year education without having to worry about any financial burden.

Toon Artiwara Kongmalai reflects on the four-year journey of the Kao Puea Nong project, which has supported over 200+ children in continuing their education at the upper secondary and vocational levels. For him, education is not only about academic knowledge, but also a gateway to life experiences and personal growth.

Becoming a father has deepened his appreciation for the importance of passing on opportunities to the next generation. Meeting the children supported by the project continues to inspire him to push forward. He warmly invites everyone to be a small but meaningful part of creating brighter futures for young people across the country.

I’m proud to see the Kao Puea Nong Scholarship serve as a bridge of hope—one that has helped students cross from a place of limitation to a future full of possibility. They had long seen the shore of opportunity but had no means to reach it. Today, our first group of scholars has completed high school and taken their next steps into university. I wholeheartedly wish them continued success as they journey toward the dreams they’ve envisioned.

The Kao Puea Nong Scholarship Program is a collaborative initiative between the Kao Kon La Kao Foundation and the Equitable Education Fund (EEF) Thailand, aimed at providing educational support for underprivileged students to continue their studies at the upper secondary or vocational level.

Using data from EEF’s ISEE (Information System for Equitable Education), the program identifies students from low-income backgrounds who are at risk of dropping out of the education system. Since its launch in 2021, the program has been funded through public fundraising activities, including charity runs, concerts, and the sale of merchandise.
