Security System
The Equitable Education Fund (EEF) Thailand, by leveraging partnerships with various educational and governmental agencies, the system aims to create an integrated network of support that addresses the diverse needs of students, from early childhood through compulsory education. This approach not only alleviates the financial burdens faced by underprivileged households but also enhances the overall educational experience, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to succeed academically and develop holistically.
The EEF launched the Education Security System to provide Equity Fund scholarships for economically disadvantaged students from early childhood education through Grade 9, and Grade 12 for students affiliated with the
Border Patrol Police (BPP).
Furthermore, EEF has developed the “Find Studentship” online platform, which gathers resources from over 170+ funding sources to offer scholarships to underprivileged students.
Additionally, in collaboration with the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) and the Department of Mental Health, the EEF also created the “School Health Hero” information system. This system monitors and assists at-risk students in 1,000+ pilot schools across 28+ educational areas, providing expert support and establishing regional task forces to address these issues comprehensively.
The EEF has proposed increasing the Equity Fund scholarship from 3,000 to 4,200 Thai baht per year, starting in 2024 and fully realized by 2026. This increase aims to cover essential educational expenses in a way that aligns with students’ needs without overlapping other funding sources.
The goal is to ensure students’ physical and cognitive development and their retention in the educational system. Additionally, the EEF has suggested to the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) the provision of free mobile phone SIM/E-sim cards for Equity Fund students in Grades 7-9 for one year.
The initiative aims to ensure equitable access to necessary resources and support for students’ academic and developmental success. It seeks to bridge the educational gap and foster a more inclusive and equitable learning environment.
The Education Security System aspires to create a sustainable and supportive educational framework that empowers all students to succeed.
