Equitable Education Fund (EEF) Thailand

Established with the goal of eliminating educational inequality, the Equitable Education Fund (EEF) Thailand strives to ensure that disadvantaged children, youth, and individuals have equitable access to quality education. In doing so, the Fund seeks to empower people to become self-reliant, reduce poverty, and break the cycle of intergenerational disadvantage.

Key Missions of the EEF

EEF operates through collaboration with all sectors of society to drive systemic change at both national and local levels. Its core missions include:

Developing models and knowledge frameworks to reduce educational disparities;

Expanding access to education for target groups;

Improving the quality of teaching and learning through effective learning management models;

Supporting teacher development and promoting flexible learning paths that enable individuals to become self-reliant.

Objectives

Under Section 5 of the Equitable Education Fund Act,
the EEF operates under seven key objectives:

01

Promote and support the involvement of public, private, and civil society sectors,

ensuring that children in early childhood receive proper holistic development—physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and intellectually;

02

Provide financial aid and support to disadvantaged children, youth, and individuals,

enabling them to complete basic education;

03

Enhance the quality and effectiveness of teachers,

empowering them to teach and develop learners according to their individual needs and potential;

04

Support the education or skill development of disadvantaged children, youth, and individuals,

equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and self-reliance;

05

Promote and support educational institutions,

enabling them to deliver teaching and learning that aligns with students’ aptitudes and potential;

06

Conduct research and develop teacher training systems,

fostering professional spirit, ethics, knowledge, and teaching competency with appropriate motivation, and supporting the establishment of model teacher development institutions;

07

Conduct research and advance knowledge development to strengthen human capital,

supporting the practical application of such knowledge to reduce educational inequality, meet labor market demands, and enhance the competitiveness of the Thai workforce.
