The Equitable Education Fund (EEF) Thailand invites members of the media and the public to attend the EEF International Forums Phase V, an international academic seminar under the theme “Advancing Education to the Last Mile Schools: How Multigrade Teaching Ensures Learning for All.” The seminar will be held online on 21 May 2025, from 10:00 to 11:30 hrs. (Webinar program attached.) The event aims to create a space for sharing ideas and experiences in multigrade teaching, particularly within the context of small or remote schools.

The seminar is honored to welcome Dr. Reycel Jugo, an expert multigrade teacher from the Philippines with extensive experience teaching in remote areas. Dr. Jugo has played a key national role in curriculum development, teacher training, and policy advocacy related to multigrade education. She will share her perspectives drawn from hands-on experience—highlighting what it means to be a teacher in a system that requires adaptability, contextual understanding, and the ability to design learning experiences that meet the needs of students of different ages in a single classroom.

Participants will gain practical insights into how multigrade classrooms can be effectively managed in real-world settings, including age-appropriate activity design, efficient lesson planning, and accessible learning resources. The seminar will also explore the teacher’s own professional development journey, growing alongside students and the community. In addition, there will be valuable policy recommendations on how to support multigrade teachers through specialized training, resource provision, and systemic support from national agencies.

This academic seminar is especially relevant for teachers, educators, researchers, school administrators, education-related agencies, and university students pursuing education degrees—particularly those intending to work in rural or small schools. It offers an important opportunity to exchange knowledge and inspiration for developing inclusive learning approaches that truly address the diverse needs of all learners.

We cordially invite members of the media and interested participants to join this insightful seminar and share their perspectives. Participation is free of charge. Please register in advance to attend via Zoom at:

About EEF International Forums:

The EEF International Forums, an initiative from the Equitable Education Fund (EEF), serves as a platform for sharing knowledge, experience, views, and innovations related to education and vocational training for disadvantaged children and youths. Since its inception in 2019, the seminar initially took place on-site three times before transitioning to an online format due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. Despite this change, the seminar’s reach expanded significantly, accommodating a broader scope of content encompassing knowledge exchange for EEF network partners as well. This inclusive approach welcomed speakers from diverse countries, enhancing the richness and diversity of perspectives shared during the sessions. The online events are broadcast via Zoom and Facebook Live, with seminar videos available for later viewing on Facebook and YouTube.
